Although on-time graduation rates have risen steadily since 2015, New Mexico still only graduates 77% of high school students in four years. New Mexico also is facing an educator workforce crisis. Despite these continued challenges, the state has made historic investments in evidence-based educational programs with the goal of accelerating student outcomes at every grade level. Join us as recently confirmed Secretary, Kurt Steinhaus, PhD, provides an overview of the Public Education Department and his role, insight into the state of education in New Mexico, outcomes of the 2022 Legislative Session and his goals for education throughout the state.
