Phoenix Series Liquefied Natural Gas Pool Fire Experiments
SAND Number: 2010-2760P
The current state of LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) fire modeling parameters, due to lack of data at prototypic scales, drives large uncertainty in thermal hazard and consequence prediction for LNG pool fires. This video documents a series of large scale LNG Pool Fire experiments performed at Sandia designed to provide data to improve the understanding of the physics and hazards of large LNG pool fires. Thermal measurements, imagery of spill progression and flame geometry were all key sources of data acquisition during these Pool tests.
